Border Collie Virtual Dog Show 2019

What is a Virtual Dog Show you ask?

A Virtual Dog Show is the dog show you have when you're not having a real dog show!! An online photo competition for Conformation and Property Classes, plus a video competition for the Dog Sports fraternity.

You enter your dog's photo (or video in the case of Dog Sports entries) in your chosen class/classes just like a normal show/trial and the Judge will select the top 5 photos/videos entered in each class. The Judges will not have access to the dog's or owner's names, only the photo/video and Exhibit number. You can enter your current dogs as well as treasured dogs from the past.

Funds raised from this Virtual Dog show will go towards the running of the 5th Border Collie National in October 2019.

A panel of “Mystery Judges” from around the world has been appointed.

Conformation classes are judged as per a normal breed show. The Conformation judges will use their knowledge and experience to “judge” the photos using the same criteria as they would if they were judging the physical dog against the breed standard, as far as the photos allow. The winners of each of the Conformation Classes will then be judged by our General Specials judge for Best In Show and Runner Up to Best in Show.

Baby sweepstakes are judged as per a normal breed class. Headed Dog and Bitch are judged as per a normal Property class with the winners of the Best Headed Dog and Best Headed bitch then being judged by the General Specials Judge for Best Headed. Gaited class will be judged as per a normal Property class. Best Fancy Dress will be judged on the creativity of the dog's costume. Best Action Photo will be judged on the dog's demonstration of dynamic athleticism, operating at its peak with pure, unadulterated joy! A typical Border Collie!

A 30 second video will highlight your dog's best work in that particular discipline. It could be a sensational recall, precision heeling, awesome retrieving, a super fast flyball run, high drive herding, high flying dock diving or a few of your dog’s favourite agility obstacles. Show the judges what your dog excels at! Correct execution of the exercise and the dog's typical Border Collie attitude and willingness to please will determine the winners.
